CommunityTools (CT) is being developed on Drupal 7 framework. We have chosen Drupal for its widespread internal beauty, amount of existing modules, themes and enthusiastic developers.

System wise, CT defines several core modules providing API’s for common services such as managing groups, maps and geotagging.

All CT tools available for group leaders are also bundled as Drupal modules and depend highly on core modules.

As our first milestone, CT team is dedicated on developing the following tools: Dashboard, Events, News, Gallery, Forum – all in tight integration with maps and geotagging.

The work will be open sourced and free for everybody. We are planning to publish the source code of alpha release in late July/ early August 2010.
